Running a match

Three things happen around a match you are on: you check what you are walking into, you score it on the court’s scoreboard, and you confirm the result when it is over.

Before the match

Tap a match in your assignments to open Match details. It shows:

• The teams, the court, the division and the start time
• Note from the organizer - what they typed, in full
• Lineups - each team’s players with their shirt numbers, and roles such as captain or coach

A team that has not named its players yet reads This team hasn’t submitted a lineup yet. Managers can submit right up to the start, so it is worth reloading the page when you get to the court.

Back to assignments takes you to your list.

Scoring the match

The score and the clock live on the court’s scoreboard, not in this app. You have two ways to reach it.

1. From your phone: tap Scoreboard.

   The button sits on the match in your assignments and opens that court’s control page in a new tab.

2. From a tablet or laptop at the court: enter the court code.

   Open the court’s scoreboard page on the device and it asks for the code before it hands over control. Your match shows it under Court code, with a button to copy it.

   Enter it and click Take Control. That browser remembers the code, so you are not asked again every match.

Whatever you do on the control page - score, clock, periods or sets - shows on the venue screen and everywhere else the match is shown, as you do it.

Who else can take control

The court code is what grants control, so treat it like a key. Anyone at the venue holding it can score that court.

Confirming the result

Confirm result appears on a match once it is under way.

1. Tap Confirm result.

   Scored fills in the score from the scoreboard and asks you to check it: Review the score, correct it if needed, then finalize the match.

2. Correct either score if it is wrong.

3. Tap Confirm & finalize.

The match moves to Past matches, and its result is what the standings, the public page and the teams see.

A confirmed result is final for you

You cannot reopen a match here, and the scoreboard link goes away with it. If the score turns out to be wrong, ask the organizer - they can correct a result from their Matches list.

Assistant referees

A match can have an assistant referee in two shapes, and both show in the crew on the match.

If the duty is yours, your match is tagged Assistant referee. You get everything about the match - the teams, the lineups, the organizer’s note - but no court code and no Confirm result, because the referee runs the scoreboard and owns the result.

If the duty falls to a team instead, the crew names that team. Their manager sees it too, in their own portal.

When something will not go through

What you see	What it means
You can’t finalize matches yet. Ask the organizer for access.	The match is not yours to finalize - you are on it as an assistant, or your assignment has been changed. Ask the organizer.
You can’t start matches or enter results until the upgrade invoice is paid.	The organizer has an unpaid invoice for this tournament. Nothing you can fix at the court - tell them.
We couldn’t load this match. Try again.	Usually the connection at the venue. Reload, and if it keeps happening check whether you are still assigned to the match.
